A succession of profiles, however lovely, do not show Vilma's face Immediate right: A beautiful profile shot, late 1925 to early 1926 Middle right: Also produced as an English postcard Far right: Most likey late 1925; perhaps taken during The Winning of Barbara Worth ------------------------------ Below left: Another early portrait of Vilma; one that was mass produced as well, I've seen signed copies of this photograph. Below second: Vilma and her fur - a recurring theme, late 1925 to early 1926; perhaps later Below middle: The heavy bangs are quintessential early Vilma, and spanned until late 1926, which makes dating difficult sometimes. Below fourth: An exquisitie portrait by Edwin Bower Hesser Below far right: Another fan photo, generally and widely available even now to collectors [From my collection]
Portraits from The Eagle A beautiful set of Vilma in her costume from The Eagle, her second film in America. The costume is quite interesting and makes for a wonderful photographic subject. The costume keeps surprisingly in tune with traditional Russian aristocratic garb. Picture to the immediate left is from my collection, as well as below far left.
Top left: A later portrait, probably early to late 1926 [?] Top second: Photographed by Nealson Smith; from The Winning of Barbara Worth, late 1925 [From my collection] Top third: An autographed picture and taken by Melbourne Spurr, who was one of Vilma's most frequent photographers Top right: Photographed by Edward Carsey, probably early to late 1926
